Cole Does King

  • Triple Door Seattle, WA United States (map)

Seattle's own Kaylee Cole takes on Carole King's landmark album "Tapestry" at the Triple Door. Released in 1971, "Tapestry" remains one of the best-selling albums of all time, featuring timeless classics like "I Feel the Earth Move," "You've Got a Friend," and "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman." Cole is joined by an all-star cast of Northwest musical talent, including Dan Walker (Heart, Amy Ray Band), Jeff Fielder (Indigo Girls), Matty Gervais and Charity Rose Thielen (The Head and the Heart), and Mikey Gervais (Mikey the Rad Scientist). Opening up the night is hilarious comedian Jaci Terjesen, with more special guests to be announced.

Kaylee Cole found her voice, her songs, and her passion for music after an intense car accident in college. Her origin story is more Marvel comic than real life - in the accident, the radio knobs punctured her leg and activated an ancient voice within her, songs that were waiting to come to the surface. Much like Spider-Man, she operates under the mantra that "with great power comes great responsibility."

A devoted songkeeper, Cole sees music as both a joy and a responsibility. Recognizing its profound healing power, her intention in every performance is to spill her guts onstage so the audience can find pieces of their own truth with her. She has shared the stage with The Lumineers, The Head and the Heart, and Damien Jurado, while collaborating with TV on the Radio, Hey Marseilles, Pickwick, Widower, Nick Jaina and many others.

Currently, Cole creates engaging and educational children's music (that grownups can enjoy) with her husband Mikey the Rad Scientist in their project Bug Friend, set to release their first full-length album later this year. When she's not singing, she's producing large-scale health and wellness events, documentary films, and music scores. But her most favorite thing of all is being a mother to two magical little humans, one of whom loved Tapestry so much she inspired her to play Cole Does King.
